Emergency crews were on the scene of a tractor trailer accident in Belmont County

MORRISTOWN --  A tractor-trailer flipped over just before noon on the outskirts of Morristown, Ohio Saturday.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Daniel Altig, 50, of Aurora, Mo., was heading down Route 40 West at an excessive speed.

Altig then tipped over as he was turning to get on the Interstate 70 ramp headed West.

He is with A-B trucking Co.

Altig was not injured in the accident and is being cited for failure to maintain control.

I used to drive tractor trailer and used to get on at the same ramp alot. That is an akward, steep, and short ramp. 15 MPH is actually to fast to take that turn with a loaded semi. Speed had to be a factor, They just don't fall over on their own.

I too was there and saw it happen, speed was not a factor. I am not from that area, but i will tell you that the turn he was making could have claimed a small car even seeing as the banking of the entrance was steep.

Speed wasn't a factor I was in front of the truck when he wrecked.. I was making the turn at 10 or 15 MPH.. The truck was almost stopped behind me.. It just fell over... I travel this road every day... I know how it is... So you and the troopers can say what you want he wasn't speeding...

Right, the trooper said the truck was going too fast to make the turn, and he is 100% correct. I know this area very well and you can't make that turn doing much more than 15-20 mph. I watched this story several times to make sure I heard everything right and the OHP trooper is right on here. Even though the truck may have been well under the speed limit, speed was ABSOLUTELY a factor. I suspect more crashes in this area as many try to avoid the I-70 construction, but this is a horrible on-ramp with not much room to merge with traffic

The trooper didn't say he was going faster than the speed limit...he said he was going too fast to make the turn with the amount of weight he had in his trailer.

My father was behind the truck when it happened... He was only going 30-35 mph when it happened... The troopers are wrong... Speed was NOT a factor in the crash...
